Big plans for VoIP startup JAJAH

Tuesday, December 19, 2006

According to the latest rumors JAJAH will be one of the big VoIP players of the first part of the 2007. JAJAH is a European start-up that on its website offers low cost or even free phone calls using the VoIP technology. Two other successful JAJAH services are textual messages and conference calls.

Now JAJAH is preparing to do another big step forward. Yesterday they announced an agreement with some of the biggest media companies in Europe. The deal, that will reach more than 110 million users, will allow the media companies to offer the JAJAH services on their websites.

The companies that agreed to offer the JAJAH services are Bild-T Online, News Austria and Pro7Sat1. The latter will also increase the visibility of JAJAH because they will carry an advertising campaign of the JAJAH services during the prime time. The other two companies instead will advertise the JAJAH services in radio and in newspapers.

The other big rumor of the day is a possible cooperation between JAJAH and Apple. This agreement would bring the JAJAH services and specifically the JAJAH software to an upcoming Apple phone.

The source on the rumor was Daniel Mattes, the JAJAH co-founder, that was quoted in a German website saying that the two companies are holding intense conversations. When asked about a possible Apple use of the JAJAH service however the European start-up refused to confirm or deny the rumors.

This would allow the JAJAH services to be available on another platform after being already used on Java-enabled and Symbian mobile phones.
