Canadian company offers bra fittings over Skype

The way we communicate has dramatically changed over the course of the last 10 years, with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and video calling, gaining huge ground against Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS). One Canadian company is embracing these advances by offering professional bra fittings done remotely over Skype – a voice over IP company recently purchased by Microsoft from eBay.

Claire Dumican (twitter @bflycollection), co-owner of Butterfly Collection – an online store specializing in bras for 'the rest of the alphabet beyond D' - estimates that as many as 3 out of every 4 large-busted women are wearing the wrong size bra. Many women living in remote areas may not have access to a large department store fitting expert, or other women just may not be comfortable 'letting the girls out' with a total stranger in a store fitting room.

Utilizing Skype's video chat feature, one of Butterfly Collection's all-female staff of fitting experts will evaluate your current bras, and discuss with you what you need to know for the best fit for your particular body type, breast shape, and lifestyle. Throughout the entire consultation, your privacy and dignity are top priority, and the consultant does not need to see you change into - or out of - your bras. At the conclusion of your consultation, you will be given several recommendations of bras available from the Butterfly Collection.

The Skype consultation is FREE – as is the shipping and handling of all purchases made from Butterfly Collection anywhere in Canada and the USA. If you wish, Claire will even schedule a follow-up Skype appointment once your new bras arrive, to make sure they fit properly and you have no other issues.

Voice over IP (VoIP) and video calling are a couple of ways that online businesses can keep a competitive edge over their computer-automated competition, and how they can provide customized, personal support tailored to their clients' needs.
