VoIP Telephone Adapter Hack

The Linksys analogue telephone adapter from Vonage has the ability to convert a regular telephone into a VoIP phone. This is great and allows you to make VoIP calls with the same feel as a normal telephone call. However Vonage have locked the adapter forcing you to use the Vonage services. This is unfortunate but there is actually a VoIP Telephone adapter hack available to allow you to unlock the adapter.

Unfortunately the Vonage VoIP telephone adapter hack is not one for the technologically shy. To do the Vonage telephone adapter hack you will need access to the web interface and be able to set the user password, the Vonage adapter should really never have been connected to the provider and had updates installed, and you also need a TFTP server set up on your network.

The full details on the VoIP telephone adapter hack for the Vonage Linksys ATA can be found here.
