Skype Translation Services



Skype has entered a new partnership which will see it providing translation services across the Skype network. translations will cover over 150 languages and will mainly consist of communications in English and another language.

Skype will be partnering with two companies, Language Line Services and Voxeo which will result in a standard based interactive voice response technology being used in the Skype network. The service is expected to be available at any time of the day and at any time of the year.

Language Line Service will provide the translators and Voxeo will use their Prophecy voice platform to automate transfer of calls from Skype to the Language Line Services network.

The service will cost $2.99 a minute and a professional language line services translator will be available on the line in a matter of minutes to translate the call.
