Optical Skype Mouse Phone | Sony MouseTalkHere is a new innovative invention soon to hit the shelves making Skype telephony even more appealing. An optical Skype mouse phone which acts as both a regular optical mouse and a Skype phone. The Skype mouse phone is called MouseTalk and is made by Sony. The MouseTalk Skype phone was announced in Japan just a few days ago and we should expect this innovative product to hit other territories soon. The Sony MouseTalk Skype phone is a VAIO PC peripheral which will be Skype certified. It has a clamshell like design (see picture below) and can be flipped open to make a call. The regular mouse buttons and wheel also double up to be functional when acting as a Skype phone, a very innovative idea indeed. The mouse wheel controls mute, volume and number select controls. The Sony MouseTalk also features echo cancellation technology and a hands free mode. The Sony MouseTalk Skype phone will actually make a great portable device that could be used in conjunction with a laptop for people on the move. With internet access becoming available in more and more locations we could soon see people working on their laptop quickly flipping open their Sony mouse to make a Skype VoIP call. ![]() |
