Micro-sized VoIP phone adapter

SmartLink M-ATAPatton Electronics, the Gathersburg MD company known for its routers and ethernet extenders, has launched the SmartLink Micro Analog Telephone Adapter (M-ATA).

This device will turn any telephone, or your fax machine into an internet-capable VoIP phone with the simple flip of a switch.

The SmartLink M-ATA has many standard telephony features such as call waiting, call forwarding, caller ID, call blocking, and conference calling.

It fits perfectly in your pocket, measuring not much more than a credit card, with a thickness of 3/4 of an inch. The SmartLink M-ATA packs just as much punch as Analog Telephone Adapters several times larger. It provides connectivity across firewalls and transport networks, and works with SIP or MGCP signaling protocols.

"Total-cost-of-ownership is the key term here," said Burton A. Patton, Executive Vice President. "Low price is just the beginning. With no-touch provisioning, remote configuration, web management, free lifetime software upgrades… plus our free, world-class tech support …Patton’s M-ATA™ pushes way down on operating costs. Our featherweight form factor also means lower freight charges. That's a big deal for VoIP service providers. When you’re sending VoIP CPEs to a hundred-thousand customers, saving a buck or two on each box really adds up."
